Midland Elementary School, Home of the Mustangs, serves 300 students including Pre-K through fifth grade. Our school is organized and designed to facilitate and enable “teachers to teach and students to learn.” The efforts of our staff create a positive climate for learning at Midland and are reflected in the accomplishments and achievements of our students.
We are a Professional Learning Community (PLC) that is dedicated to the success of our students. Every child has equal access to and is challenged by a rigorous and rich core curriculum in language arts, math, science, social studies, physical education and music. The hard working and nurturing staff is dedicated to meeting the needs and learning styles of each student. Involved parents, an active PTA, and a supportive community are a visibly positive presence in our school. All of our classrooms are current with technology and are equipped with smart boards, projectors, and document cameras that are used for daily instruction. We have two stationery computer labs, three mobile computer labs and an IPAD cart. Our students have access to many Educational technology programs that are used for instruction including Accelerated Reader, Odyssey, Moby Max, Star Math, Star Reading, Think Central, Reasoning Mind and many more |
Midland Elementary is proud to have a library that students may visit and check out books. We are fortunate to have parent volunteers from our school to serve as librarians. They are available on a weekly basis to assist students with selecting and checking out books as well as maintaining our library. During the year, two book fairs are held along with an evening open house for parents to visit the book fair.
Our Parent-Teacher Association is very active and is an important part of our school. They provide assistance with classroom supplies, school improvement, field trips, and teacher support. The PTA plans carnivals, movie nights, and helps out with all of our school evening activities. We are thankful to have such a dedicated group of parents at our school. If you would like to visit our school, please feel to contact the school office at 304 636 9186 to schedule an appointment. |
